Army Days

Army Days

I had to keep on running. I had to fight back the tears. His head shifted into my chest. His face went pale. My eyes started to blur, as his hand was losing grip of mine. The blanket started to go as red as a tomato. I knew that I was going to lose him. I sprinted towards the refugee camp as there was nothing else to do. Was I going to see him again? I wondered.

As I sprinted towards the golden gate, I stopped. BANG! A minebomb exploded taking me and him with it. The rubble from the buildings was everywhere and I jumped to move it, to find the boy. He was my main thought at this moment in time. I saw a dusty hand and uncovered the rest of the horror. A lifeless body was there, with blood on his face. No pulse. No family except me. I had lost my little brother and now his coffin is resting on my guilt. Our duty is to protect and I failed. Maybe I should have never joined the army in the first place.

A Day At The Beach-Pinhead's POV

A Day At The Beach-Pinhead's POV

Everything had changed. A lot has happened in 10 years. People come and go. I spend most of my time in the old arcade playing the slot machines, I never use to. The arcade was an isolated building on an old pier on the sandy beach of Brighton. At one point I was in a freak show, I was only 16 and I was known by everyone as Pinhead. They were all scared of me.

One day, I was having another go at the slot machine when I saw a small girl enter the musty room. She was short, so she must've been about 6 or 7. She had short brown hair and vibrant blue eyes. She was on her own and walked cautiously to the claw grabber (better known as the lucky dipper) and she saw a brown fluffy teddy bear. It took the girl three goes until she gave up and walked away. It started to heavy rain and thunder. The girl came back and I hid behind the machine. The machine was a tall as a mountain compared to me and I still managed to stay hidden. I came out from the machine so the girl could get her toy. She grabbed it and backed away. I suppose that's what everyone does. She fell down a hole onto the beach and I saw her lying there on the silky sand. I panicked. I grabbed her to safety.

As I walked back to the arcade, I smiled to the girl and waved goodbye to her. Why did I save her? I saved her because I couldn't loose her again. She doesn't know me, but I know her. She looks just like her mother that made me lose it. It was the girl's mother that made me lose my daughter. Today was the first time I saw my little girl. My Angelina. I saw her again, a year later with her mother. Her mother has another man there and Angelina was calling him "Daddy". My world plummeted as I heard her call another man "Daddy". I suppose her mother was ashamed that I was Angelina's dad. They're so normal and I'm a freak. Angelina caught my eye and waved at me. As I waved back I wondered, how long until the man who has pins in his head, will be recognized as her father? How long until I got called "Daddy?" When would I see her again?"

This is based on a short film I watched in English called 'A day at the beach' and one of the characters is called Pinhead.

The Ghost In The Cupboard

The Ghost in the Cupboard

Hannah was home alone. Her brother was out with his friends and her parents were out for dinner with their friends that lived in Australia. Their house was old and grand, and it gave a spine chilling feeling every time someone walked through the front door. The house was cheap on the market, priced at only £350,000 and whenever someone at Hannah's school asked were she lived, they shuddered and said,
"Well, good luck" and would run off. Hannah was to be confused at first, but then she got use to it.

She was sitting on her bed doing her Geography homework, when she froze. Creak, creak, creak. She cautiously put her pen down and looked up.
"Dylan, is that you?" She asked. No reply.
"Hello, anyone there?" She shouted. Still no reply. BANG! The door swung open then shut and Hannah froze. She got up off her bed and went to open the door. She opened it and no one was there. That was weird, I swear the door was shut. She thought to herself. She sat back down on her bed when she heard a deep, ghostly like voice.
"Hannah, Hannah" The voice whispered and Hannah looked up, startled.
"I demand to know who's there!" She shouted. All of a sudden her teddy bear, Jamie got thrown at her. Where did Jamie come from? I swear I put him in my cupboard. She carried on doing her homework, when she felt a cold rush, come over her, as if someone is stepping over her grave. This majorly freaked Hannah out as all of the windows were shut and it was mid June.

Hannah was finishing up the last question on her Geography homework, when her stereo turned on, playing a freaky classical piece of music. She had seen something like this before in a horror movie, so she knew exactly what not to do. She ambled over to her stereo to turn it off and when she turned back around to sit back down on her bed, she could see an icy hand wrapping its fingers around her cupboard door. She went to open it and she screamed as she saw what looked like her own dead body, and she fell into blackness as she fainted from the sight she just saw.

The sequel is coming soon, comment if you have any ideas for a new story or book :)
